About

Hello! I’m Anna Kovalchuk - an Environment Concept Artist.

I create atmospheric and story-driven environments for games, with a strong focus on mood, scale, and worldbuilding. My work often explores futuristic architecture, industrial spaces, and large-scale environments designed to support narrative and gameplay.

Over the past 5 years I’ve worked as a concept artist and for 3+ years as an illustrator on a range of game-related projects, including mobile games, indie productions, board games, and promotional artwork for studios. I’ve also spent several years working in-house in game development, gaining experience with collaborative production pipelines.

My workflow combines digital painting with 3D tools such as Blender, Gaea, and ZBrush. I often use 3D blockouts to explore composition, lighting, and spatial design before refining the final concept in 2D.

I hold a Master’s degree in Illustration and Graphic Arts from the Stroganov Academy of Design and Applied Arts. My background in academic drawing, painting, and plein-air practice continues to influence how I approach form, light, and atmosphere in my work.

I’m always open to new opportunities in game development and collaborations focused on building immersive worlds.
